NUR

The National University of Rwanda (NUR) is Rwanda’s state university, founded in November 1963 with a mission to “provide higher education, conduct research, and offer services to the community.” Before the violence of 1994, NUR maintained three campuses in Kigali, Ruhengeri, and Butare; the University now operates one campus in Butare. With a yearly enrollment of 10,000, NUR continues to educate nearly a third of the total students in higher education in Rwanda.
