DOMINICAINS
The Dominicans of Canada first began a mission in Butare, Rwanda in 1960. The mission was established to aid nascent and growing congregations rather than evangelize. In 1974, they relocated their efforts Kigali. There the Dominicans started "Club Rafiki," a community center that hosted educational programming; a shelter for street children; a literacy program; a community lending bank; and a Christian magazine, Dialogue, among other endeavors.
