Description (French): Avec l'instauration du multipartisme au Rwanda en 1991 des divers journaux ont vu le jour dont certains étaient rallié aux partis naissants et d'autres au régime de l'AKAZU rallié au gouvernement actuel. Umurangi était un journal affilié au MDR PARMEHUTU l’un des parties s’opposant au gouvernement de Habyarimana Juvena. Umurangi changea sa ligne éditoriale et commença a suivre la ligne du MDR qui propageait les divisions ethnique comme celles de la MRND et du CDR. Umurangi Nº 0012 a les grandes lignes suivantes:
- Le MRND continue de souiller les biens qui l’enrichissent et de salir l’eau qu’ils utilisent!
- La vraie court a été trahie alors personne ne devrait nous proposer une fausse.
- L'église épiscopale du Rwanda: celui qui ne reçoit pas mauvaise éducation étant petit, l’a quand il grandit.
- Un homme ne quémande pas sur la souffrance des siens.
Description (English):The introduction of the multiparty system to Rwanda in 1991 resulted in the creation of a number of new publications. Some of these publications were allied with new parties and others with the AKAZU regime, which was itself allied with the MRND. Umurangi, one of the emerging publications of the time, was affiliated with the MDR Parmehutu, an opposition party of of the MRND and Habyarimana. Later, Umurangi changed its editorial slant and started to follow the MDR party line, which propagated ethnic divisions, just as the MRND and the CDR. Umurangi Issue 014 (9 pages) features the following stories:
-- MRND continues mucking up the property which makes them rich and dirtying the water they use.
- The court was betrayed so no one should bring us a false one.
- The Rwandan Episcopal Church: If one doesn’t misbehave when he is young, he does it when he grows.
- A man should not profit from the suffering of his friend.
